A famous designer: Maarten Van Severen

Son of the painter Dan Van Severen, Maarten Van Severen (1956-2005) was surrounded by art throughout his childhood. After studying architecture in Ghent, he designed his first pieces of furniture in the late 1980's. Taking minimalism to new heights, his creations are applauded worldwide. As proof, his LCP "chaise longue" became part of the MoMA New York collections.
 

An innovative solution: BuzziSpace 

Founded in Antwerp in 2007, BuzziSpace is a benchmark in acoustic furnishings. Its solutions for  sensory well-being (partitions, sound-absorbing panels, workstations, lighting etc.) focus on noise reduction, notably in open-space offices. An event: "Brussels Design September"

Each year, "Brussels Design September" stages over 100 events revolving around design (exhibitions, lectures, debates, encounters etc.). The 2021 edition highlighted designer solutions addressing our new ways of living and working. Europe's largest vintage market, the Brussels Design Market was also back, to the great delight of treasure-hunters.

"Crush" exhibition at the Design Museum Brussels

Not to be missed, the "Crush" exhibition at the Design Museum Brussels, close to the famous Atomium, can be seen until March 6th, 2022. Staged with the Museum of Ixelles, it offers a surprising dialogue between design objects and works of art. The ideal chance to also discover its permanent collection, solely comprised of objects made of plastic. Unique worldwide!
