The high-end watchmaking scene is richly composed of large Manufactures and more insider brands with strong appeal for connoisseurs. Among them, Louis Moinet is in a class of its own. The legacy bequeathed by the inventor of the world’s first chronograph lives on thanks to Jean-Marie Schaller, who resurrected its workshops in 2012. Inspired by creativity, exclusiveness, art and design, the brand has unveiled a masterpiece of horology and technology called Astronef Techno. Its two satellite tourbillons inside cages that rotate at different speeds are awesome at first glance - especially when they align perfectly every 3 minutes and 20 seconds -, though the dial above which they gravitate is even more impressive.

Comprised of a silicon wafer engraved with microelectronic circuits, it transforms itself into a luminous kaleidoscope with each move of the wrist. Amazing! Though that’s not all. Mounted on a Grade 5 titanium frame, the sapphire structure of the Astronef Techno case is also a marvel of engineering. Its transparency offers a fascinating glimpse of the LM 105 calibre which required over 3 years of R&D to conduct this mechanical symphony… Totally hypnotic!
